Now in its 101st year, York House School is a well-established, innovative and forward-looking school for Girls and Boys. The recent ISI inspection report commended the excellent education provided by fully-qualified and caring staff and the nurturing of confidence and creativity in pupils.

Located in an historic house in 47 acres of the Hertfordshire countryside, the school’s aim is to encourage children to achieve the highest academic results and discover their talents in a happy atmosphere while promoting self-discipline and caring for others.

The modern facilities include a multi-purpose hall and theatre, Library, state-of-the-art computer suite and large music centre.
Sporting facilities are abundant, including 15 acres of playing fields for cricket, rugby, soccer, and athletics plus a 25m indoor heated pool.

The modern Pre-Prep department takes children rising 3 to 6+, and the Prep School caters for 7 to 13. Pupils are prepared for Common Entrance and Independent Schools Scholarships.

Pupils can attend early morning and after school clubs between 7.45am and 6pm – a useful resource for working parents. Extra-curricular clubs range from street-dance, kayaking, archery and martial arts to chess, philosophy and drama to name but a few.
